The Division of Finance and Administration and several campus partners collected 2,175 items for the UNT Food Pantry presented by Kroger during the month of November.
Many of these items were collected at the Support and Services Building where partners participated in a friendly game to see who could bring in the most donations. Division departments that participated included Administrative Services, Budget Office, Facilities, Transportation Services, and the UNT Police Department. Participating partners included Data, Analytics, & Institutional Research (DAIR); Center for Learning, Experimentation, Application, and Research (CLEAR); the Diversity & Inclusion group in the Division of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access; staff members from the Division of Digital Strategy and Innovation; and UNT World's Human Resources UNT campus team.
The items were taken to the food pantry on Dec. 1, which staff members there said was ideal because it allowed them to replenish items that were starting to run low. Donated items included canned goods, pantry staples, snacks, breakfast items, toiletries and hygiene products, and 120 egg containers since the pantry now also carries perishable goods such as milk and eggs. The donations filled two large SUVs.
