The second week of April (April 10-16 this year) is time to celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunications week.
In the Division of Finance and Administration we honor all of our Telecommunication staff at the UNT Police Department. Telecommunicators answer 911 calls on campus and provide assistance through the police non-emergency line, 940-565-3000. Because the UNT Police Department is a dual-accredited professional police department open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, the department telecommunicators are always working along with police officers.
The week-long National Public Safety Telecommunications event gives recognition and expresses gratitude to those who are dedicated to saving lives.
Campus community members can thank the UNT Police Department telecommunicator staff members by sending a note to Captain Jeremy Polk, who oversees the Support Services Unit at the department.
